Pupil agreement

  1. Your lesson environment needs to be somewhere where you or child is not disturbed during the lesson.  Microphones are sensitive so please ensure sure there are no televisions/game players or other noises such as washing machine running in the same room.
  2. Lessons are paid Monthly in advance.  prepaid lessons that are not taken, and with appropriate notice given, will be credited to the next month. Should you decide to discontinue lessons permanently, all lessons paid for but not used will be refunded in full.
  3. Standard lessons are 30, 45 and 60 minutes long, although variations in lesson length are negotiable. It is important that all lessons start on time, so if a web-lesson, please be ready with computer switched on, webcam and microphone set up, and the on-line lesson application open.
  4. The next lesson after yours will also start on time so there is no facility to over-run to compensate for late starting.
  5. Please ensure that you or your child wear clothing that you would wear for a public meeting outside your home.  Teachers are under strict instructions not to proceed with lessons where inappropriate clothing is being worn.
  6. A video recording of each lesson is taken and automatically made available to the student (or parent) a few minutes after the lesson has finished.  The recording will be confidential and will not be available to anyone besides the student and teacher.  Besides providing security and peace of mind for parents, this facility is very useful for students and teachers to review the lesson.
  7. Students may cancel a lesson up to 24 hours in advance of its scheduled time with no charge. Lessons cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time may be charged at the normal rate subject to the discretion of the teacher.
  8. If your music lesson is cancelled because your teacher is unavailable and it is not possible to reschedule your lesson within a ten day window a full reimbursement of your lesson cost will be made.
  9. If your lesson is cancelled because your teacher decides that the internet connection is not sufficient for the lesson to proceed then your lesson will be rescheduled within a ten day window or a full refund made.
  10. Parents: We would ask that you remain in the vicinity of the online lesson for its duration.  However, children can find it distracting if you are too close or interacting directly.  So we recommend a compromise of asking that you always be in the vicinity of your child’s lesson but not directly interacting with it.  You are, of course, always welcome to discuss lessons with the teacher outside of the actual lesson.
